Pilates is known to work on developing a strong “core”, (the deeper tummy muscles close to the spine). This will not only improve on your look but more importantly support your back.
Other than being a very enjoyable workout, Pilates can be easily accessible for most people; it will re-train your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns, and help with injury recovery, better sports performance and good posture.
Pilates works on the stability muscles first, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility, building the type strength and flexibility that is less likely to incur injuries: that is why people often say they start feeling muscles they didn’t know they had.
Pilates conditions the whole body, training the entire musculature and can be done on the mat or on large equipment such as the famous reformer and others (Cadillac, Wunda chair and barrels). This variety of approaches provide endless options for exercise to target different goals and avoid boring repetitive exercises.
